Two Revitalization Projects For Daufuskie Island
These are exciting times for Daufuskie Island with two major revitalization projects to look forward to.
Brian McCarthy recently purchased the Bloody Point golf course on the island and has plans to reopen it, perhaps as a semi-private club. Additionally, as part of his plan he is thinking about opening a restaurant and perhaps building a dock on the river that borders the course's finishing holes to speed access from Savanna which he thinks has been under-used as a gateway.
The Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa also has a new owner and J.T. Bramlette sees an opportunity to remake it into a name-brand destination. His plans to revitalize the project include improving the Melrose golf course, seeking to bring in a luxury hotelier to brand the resort’s inn, and developing an outdoor amphitheater to attract young families.
We are enthusiastic about what bringing back these two important features of Daufuskie Island means for our community.
